Engine manufacturers recommend replacement of cylinder head bolts in the maintenance of the cylinder head in almost all cases.
The reason: During the prescribed torquing procedure, the bolts are tightened beyond their yield point. With repeated use, the necessary bolt force can no longer be reached – leakage of the cylinder head is practically unavoidable can could even lead to engine damage.
